AMENDMENT

ΤΟ GENERAL ORDERS.

The following General Order is added as

General Order 176B immediately after General Order

176A.

176B. (1) An officer is required to report

for duty in the Colony at latest before noon on the

day after the period of his leave, plus the standard

period allowed for the voyage, has expired, and he

must make arrangements in ample time to that end.

(2) An officer who arrives back late

will receive no pay for the overstay and an officer

who arrives back early will be allowed to carry forward

any unexpired leave. Only in very extraordinary

circumstances will any extension of leave to cover

late arrival be considered; in the case however of an

officer who avails himself of the normal fortnightly

sailings from England, if the unexpired leave to be

carried forward would be longer than the extension

necessary to allow the officer to travel by the next

ship leaving after the date by which at latest he is

due to leave England, the officer has the option of

taking the necessary extension of leave on condition

that the period of extension is deducted from the amount

of leave granted in respect of his next tour of service.

(3) If an officer has already taken

the maximum amount of leave which he may be granted at

any one time, any extension of leave granted on grounds

of urgent private affairs will be without pay, notwith-

standing that the officer may have further days on the

credit side of his leave account.
